5 February 2020 | Comments: 0

Erin Page is a Townsville based Oral Health Therapist who, like Cathy, has a passion for oral health and wellness. Both enjoy the challenge of treating young children and giving them an opportunity for a great start in life from an oral health perspective.

Dental evaluations should start well before the child sits in the dental chair and Erin explains what she looks for as part of the dental assessment and why. They discuss the small things that are observed during the dental visit and how this often opens up the discussions for helping the child well beyond the dental setting.

The importance of early dental checkups is explained, how early dental decay can be easily managed and why help and advice relative to the individual child is vital to the dental examination even for the youngest of children.

Erin and Cathy explain the basics of dental decay, the importance of brushing and flossing for young children, the use of toothpaste and mouth rinses and how fluoride really does help strengthen teeth.

The early years are the cornerstone of ongoing oral health and wellness and Cathy and Erin have some great information to help you start your little ones on the right track.
