Episode # 21 One eye on the future for rural and remote clients, and looking outside the square for personal development. With Lyn Carman

From a geographical perspective, the ability to access dental care in Australia is certainly not an equal field. Lyn Carman, a South Australian Dental Hygienist, Life Coach and innovator is passionate about prevention, access to care and collaboration.

In the first part of this interview, Lyn explains how an innovative team of health professionals is exploring ways the population of rural and remote areas of South Australia can be best serviced. The project has been designed and driven by those who are already working in that geographical area. Not only have they recognised the needs of their population, they are driven to find appropriate answers.

Lyn has also been a light in the somewhat grey times for many dental clinicians this year through her efforts to help bring perspective to the 2020 COVID 19 ”season” the world is experiencing. Lyn and I discuss opportunities which have presented themselves during this time and how this can be a season for positive change.

There are some gems of information in this episode for everyone, and Lyn’s perspective on career evolution is refreshing.
